Martyrs and Martyrdom: Bodoland Observes Martyrs Day

Monjib Mochahari [https://posttruthinfo.wordpress.com]

All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) observed Bodoland Martyrs’ Day today at Borkata, Tamulpur in Baksa district. On 12 June 1987, Sujit Narzary was brutally killed at Tihu Chalk in Barpeta district when the bus he travelled was attacked by miscreants who were against the very for a separate homeland. Since then, 12 June is commemorated as Bodoland Martyrs Day in Bodoland.

Thousands of people have sacrificed their lives in the last six decades of Bodo movement. Many brave hearts, young boys and girls from across Assam were brutally killed by security forces, mostly in fake encounters. While many remained traceless even today.
